How to Use the Futsal Action Stats Tracker
The Action Stats Tracker is a free tactical analysis tool for futsal. No installation required — open it in any browser on your phone, tablet or computer, and all data is saved automatically on your device.
Initial Setup: Athletes and Categories
Start by going to the Athletes tab to add your squad, including shirt numbers and optional photos. Then head to Categories to define the action types you want to track — for example: Shots, Passes, Corners or Defensive Blocks. For each category, create the specific actions and set whether they are individual (tied to a player), collective, or require a field location.
Creating Games and Managing Call-ups
In the Call-ups tab, create your matches and link them to an opponent and competition. Select the players called up for each game and assign the captain and vice-captain. This information connects directly to your analysis records, letting you filter statistics by match with full context.
Logging Actions in Real Time
Open the Analysis tab and select the active game. Use the timer to track playing time, set the current period and your team's attack direction. Tap your team's or the opponent's button to start logging an action: pick the category, the action, the player (if applicable) and the field location. Every action is saved in the timeline with the exact timestamp and can be edited or deleted at any time.
Reviewing Detailed Statistics
The Statistics tab automatically aggregates all recorded data. Filter by game, team, category, action or player to focus your analysis. View ball possession charts, a player ranking, a field location map and detailed tables per category. Export the full report as a PDF with one click.
Exporting and Importing Data
Use the Export function to save all data as a backup file. This file can be imported on another device or shared with other coaching staff. The format is fully compatible with all other SportsLabTools futsal tools, with no data loss.
Sync Data Between Tools
Each tool stores its data on your device. If you created or changed data (players, opponents, competitions, games, call-ups and venues) in another SportsLabTools futsal tool, press Sync data, next to Export, to bring it in here — no need to export and import files. New items are added, changed items take the most recent version and items you deleted in another tool are removed. Data that belongs only to this tool is not affected.
Action Types and Categories
The tool lets you create fully customisable categories. Here are some typical examples used in futsal analysis:
- Shots — Shot on Target, Shot Wide, Blocked Shot (individual, with field location)
- Passes — Successful Pass, Failed Pass, Key Pass (individual)
- Set Pieces — Corner, Direct Free-kick, Penalty (with location)
- Goalkeeping — Low Save, Timely Exit, Penalty Save (individual)
- Team Organisation — Organised Attack, High Press, Defensive Block (collective)
You can create as many categories and actions as you need, assign a distinct colour to each category and configure which ones require a field location.
Tactical Analysis with the Field Map
The interactive field map displays the geographic distribution of recorded actions on the pitch. The system automatically normalises coordinates based on the configured attack direction: if your team attacks left-to-right in the first half and switches sides in the second, positions are converted so the map is always consistent. This lets you identify tactical patterns — shooting zones, recovered corners, possession losses — regardless of which half they occurred in.
The comparison charts let you cross-reference data between players, games or actions, making it easier to decide on rotations, tactical systems and preparation for the next opponent.
Tips for Coaches and Analysts
- Set the attack direction before logging location-based actions — it ensures the tactical map is always accurate, regardless of the half being played.
- Use collective categories for system-level actions (pressing, defensive block) and individual ones for technical actions (shot, pass) — this makes per-player statistics more meaningful.
- Filter by a single game in the statistics to prepare a focused pre-match analysis of the next opponent or review a specific performance.
- Export the PDF after each game as an observation report — it includes the field map, possession data, player ranking and detailed category breakdowns.
- Share the exported data with the video analyst to cross-reference action data with match footage.
- Use the player comparison charts to identify who has the highest positive action rate in pressing situations or set pieces.
Line (Quarteto) Statistics and 5-a-Side Power Plays
Beyond the generic categories, create a "Line" category to link each action to the group of four players on court at that moment — this lets you compare the real performance of each rotation, not just each individual player. Also log 5-a-side power-play situations (with a flying goalkeeper) as a separate collective category: the ratio of goals scored versus conceded during those spells often settles on its own whether it's worth risking that option against a specific opponent.
💡 Share analysis directly with your athletes. The Futsal Athlete Journal → lets each player track their own performance using the same Athlete ID you assign here — export match data and each athlete imports it directly into their personal journal.
